About Me
I was born and raised in Sacramento, CA then found my way to the Bay Area by way of San Jose State University where I went to college. After the typical 'soul searching' when I was done with college, I realized that makeup fueled my creative soul. I was determined to not just rely on the 'skills' I had doing my makeup or my friends' makeup throughout the years, but to really educate myself on face shape, color theory, bone structure, etc. so I enrolled in The San Francisco Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology & Esthetics where I completed 1600 hours of all things beauty (and sanitation) and passed my State Board to become a licensed Cosmetologist. I stayed in the Bay Area for a bit after Beauty School where I started doing Wedding Makeup while at the same time taking classes to continue fine tuning my makeup skills. I have worked with 3 different Professional Makeup Companies where I traveled around the US teaching and coaching other makeup instructors and artists. I eventually moved back to Sacramento, got married, had kids, became a Certified KETT Cosmetics Airbrush Trainer and never lost my love for working with brides.
Being in the beauty industry the past 15 years has introduced me to lots of amazing things and people but has also forced me to take a hard look at what I value most when it comes to the definition of 'beauty'. I realized that what I really want to do is help other humans see the beauty in themselves. For me, it's never been about 'making someone over' or making someone fit into what society deems as 'beautiful', but about enhancing someone's own unique beauty and helping them see it themselves. My goal is for you to feel comfortable with me, for you to love our time together and for you to still look like you.
We've been through a lot the past couple of years and I'm not sure about you, but I'm ready to see folks declare their love for each other in front of those that mean the most to them and I'd be honored if you chose me to be a part of that day.
Because I can talk on and on about what matters most to me, I thought I'd give you snippets of some of my favorite things. Enjoy!
YAY! You're here! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my page! I strongly believe in making connections with others and feel that it's important for you to know a little (or a lot) about me. If we get the opportunity to work with each other, I'm gonna be all up in your face so you should know something about me! HA HA
Family
"Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten" - Lilo & Stitch
At the end of the day, we've only got those that we surround ourselves with. My family and close friends mean the mostest to me. They are my backbone, my why, my strongest supporters and my life lesson creators.
Experiences
Life is too short not to do fun things. Traveling to Hawaii in between my mom's chemo treatments, going to see the Mumford and Sons concert with my dad and sisters, getting a spontaneous tattoo with my hubby ... These experiences made the best memories that when I look back, I smile from ear to ear and DO NOT regret a thing.
Crafty DIYs
From epoxying my garage floor to revamping my IKEA cabinets to organizing and labeling ALL the things, I live for a good project. If I can't do it myself, then I'm not sure it's worth it. HA HA
Treats
Live your life. Every ounce of it. Even if society is telling you to 'cut carbs' or stop eating sugar, JUST EAT THE DONUT. I love a good crafted cocktail, or ice cream runs in the middle of winter, or homemade cold brew any time of the day. These treats are usually shared with the humans that mean the most to me so, why not? Plus, donuts are my love language. Duh.
Foklorico Dancing
Fun fact: I danced traditional Mexican Folklorico dance for over 15 years of my life. It not only allowed me to explore more of my own culture, but opened up my eyes to wanting to know more about other cultures and traditions. Added bonus: I started to love makeup more because of the stage makeup we had to do ourselves. Plus, it introduced me to some of my bestest friends in the whole wide world. (Hint, one of them is in this picture and yes, that is me )
